LEDGER FARM LLC. is dedicated to exceptional
horse care accompanied by good horsemenship.
We pride ourselves on taking care of your horses and ours to the best of our ability.  Ledger Farm's program is designed with the Event/Combined Training horse in mind.  We also compete in Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation but our main goals are in the Eventing.
Ledger Farm was established in Nov. of 2006 by Christine Pitcairn, with the goal of creating a barn where your horse's well being was put first.  Combine this with great training and you end up with a harmonious partnership.  Christine feels this is necessary for all Equestrian disciplines, but especially in the discipline of Eventing.
 Background
Christine Pitcairn has been riding since she was two years old.  Having owned her first pony at 9 years old, her love for horses only grew stronger.
At age 11, Christine started attending The Ethel Walker School,  where she became a part of the Equestrian team in the 6th grade.  At age 14, she was a part of the Varsity team and working towards her goals
of having her own horse to compete. By the time she had graduated she had been a part of the Varsity Equestrian team for 5 years.  In September of '99, Christine purchased a horse named "Image".  With a great background in Dressage, but very little Eventing experience, "Image" would take her all over the East Coast to compete.
Christine and Image competed in both Area I & II Championships as well as acquired many wins from Massachusetts to North Carolina. While attending Walker's, Christine had the opportunity to receive great instruction.  Her tutors included Rick Caldwell, Dean Miller, Linda Langmeier (winner of the 1983 Maclay), Denny Emerson. Some of the clinicians she has worked with include Kerry Milikin, Cindy Collier - Rawson,  Kevin Babbington, and Ellen Miller.
While at Walker's, Christine was Co-Head of Riding as well as the recipient of three Coach's awards. In '01 She received the Nobel-Uihlein Trophy for the Most Improved Rider in the year.
Not only did Christine receive great instruction in the tack but on the ground as well.  While attending Walker's, Christine had a working student job in the barn from 6th grade until she graduated.  She has groomed at events and horse shows from Florida to Vermont.  She was head groom for a friend at both a CCI* and CCI**, as well as groomed for a top professional on the HITS circuit in Vermont. This combined with her experience in the tack makes her a well rounded equestrian.
"I started Ledger Farm LLC.  in the fall of 2006 in dedication to my Father, Gilbert Ledger Pitcairn II, who unexpectedly passed away in Aug. 2004.  My father gave me my love for animals and was the first person to put me on a horse.  We run Ledger Farm to honor his memory and to keep his passion for animals alive!"

Chelsea McCann
started riding at 7 years old in her home state of Vermont.  At the age of 9, she made the move to Windswept Farm, in Williston, VT, to start leasing and focusing her love of riding more in the combined training discipline.  She bought her first horse at 12 years old from Denny and May Emerson.  "Veruca" was a 4 yr. old Thoroughbred mare who is the full sister to "Just Lyndi" and "Jetting West," both of whom have competed through the Preliminary level.  Veruca combined with her instruction from Tina Mauss, a fellow Ethel Walker Alum, helped to focus Chelsea's desire to further her education in the sport of Eventing
.
Chelsea decided to bring her mare to Ethel Walker in the year of '99 and started immediately to be a part of the Event team.   While attending Walker's, Chelsea quickly outgrew her mare and moved up to an even more talented mare, Pardon My French, or "Frankie" around the barn.   Frankie took Chelsea up and down the East coast competing at numerous Events from Vermont to South Carolina.   She qualified for Area I & II Championships multiple years and brought home many ribbons along the road.   "Frankie" is still apart of the Ledger Farm team and was competing at the Prelim level last fall.  She will do what she does best and follow in her owner's foot steps by  contiuning to teach kids the joys of eventing!
Chelsea completed a degree in Neuroscience at Colby College.   This combined with her great love for breeding and paints has her starting a new venture in breeding lines and genetics.  She is inclined to breeding talented sport horses, particularly with unique color.
Chelsea has worked at Windswept Farm,  Vershire Riding School, and with numerous clinicians including Denny Emerson, Jerry Schurinck, Gunnar Ostergaard, the late Garth Harrison, Cindy Collier - Rawson, and Ellen Miller.  Her daily instructors include Linda Langmeier, Rick Caldwell, Dean Miller, and Michael and Tina Mauss.
